Nepali Congress leader Dr Narayan Khadka appointed as foreign minister

Kathmandu: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has appointed a lawmaker of the Nepali Congress, Dr Narayan Khadka, as Minister for Foreign Affairs.

President Bhandari appointed Dr Khadka to the post as per Article 76 (9) of the Constitution at the recommendation of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba. A spokesperson at the Office of the President, Jagannath Panta said that the President would administer the oath of office and secrecy to newly appointed Minister Khadka this afternoon.

After the swearing-in ceremony, he will leave for the United States to take part in the 76th session in United Nations General Assembly.
