President Bhandari says festivals help consolidate national unity

September 20, Kathmandu: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has expressed the belief that the cultural and historical festival of Kumari and Indrajatra celebrated by the Newar community of Kathmandu Valley would help strengthen the national unity by deepening the spirit of mutual trust, harmony, tolerance and cooperation among Nepalese of different castes, languages, cultures and regions.

Extending best wishes on the occasion of Kumari and Indrajatra festival in a message on Sunday, President Bhandari wished happiness, peace, prosperity and good health to all Nepali brothers and sisters at home and abroad.

The President also called upon all concerned to observe the festivals carefully following the public health norms to avoid the COVID-19.

President Bidhyadevi Bhandari, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Jung Bahadur Rana, Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota, Speaker of the National Assembly Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, government ministers, officials of the Constitutional Commission and high-ranking officials of the Government of Nepal participated in the special function organized by the Constitution Day Main Ceremony Committee at Army Pavillion Tudikhel in Kathmanduon Sunday.
