Developing countries like Nepal facing disproportional impact of climate change: Minister Bhusal

 

September 6, Lalitpur: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Pampha Bhusal has said that tackling the adverse impact of climate change is becoming more and more challenging.

After planting trees at Indrayani park in Lalitpur Metropolitan City Ward -2 on Monday the occasion of Civil Servants’ Day, Minister Bhusal said that greenhouse gas emissions from industrialized countries had led to climate change and that developing countries like Nepal were bearing its brunt.

Saying that the world had unforeseen disasters and climate change due to industrial and nuclear development, Energy Minister Bhusal argued that phenomena like soil erosion had affected our daily lives.

Minister Bhusal also thanked everyone, including ward chairman Rajesh Kumar Maharjan, for playing an important role in making the ward prosperous and secured. 

Ward Chairman Rajesh Kumar Maharjan expressed his commitment to protect the trees planted in the ward office premises. 

More than four dozen different species of trees have been planted in Indrayani park on Monday.
