UML Central Committee meeting today for first time after party split

August 26, Kathmandu: The Central Committee meeting of CPN(UML) is being held on Thursday for the first time after former party Senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal registered a new party. 

The meeting will also be attended by 10 members of the Standing Committee who were previously on Madhav Kumar Nepal’s faction. 

UML Central Office Secretary Sher Bahadur Tamang has informed that the meeting is going to be held at 12 noon on Thursday at Tulsilal Smriti Bhawan in Chasal, Lalitpur.

The agenda of the meeting includes the approval Standing Committee’s decision on the implementation of the 10-point proposal, distribution of party membership, general and local conventions, and disciplinary action against leaders involved in the party split. 

The meeting of the Standing Committee on Bhadra 8, at the recommendation of the Internal Dispute Resolution Task Force,  had decided to revert the party structure back to that of Jestha 2, 2075 B.S.

UML has decided to hold the 10th National General Convention in the second week of November.

The CPN (Unified Socialist) led by the former senior leader of UML Madhav Kumar Nepal was recognized by the Election Commission on Wednesday.
