Minister Bhusal and S.Korean Ambassador Park discuss Nepal’s energy sector

August 3, Kathmandu: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Pampha Bhusal met South Korean Ambassador to Nepal Park Chong-suk on Monday to discuss the advancement of Nepal’s energy sector.

During the meeting held at the Ministry of Energy, matters of mutual interest and cooperation between Nepal and Korea were also discussed.

On the occasion, Minister Bhusal expressed confidence that the good relations between the two countries would be further strengthened in the days to come.

During the meeting, Ambassador Park informed the work on the Upper Trishuli-1 project was underway and its foundation stone would be laid in the coming October.

Ambassador Park also requested the Government of Nepal (GoN) to carry out the works on its part to move forward with the project.

He expressed confidence that the completion of the project would further help in expanding mutual relations between the two countries.

In reply, Minister Bhusal stressed the need to complete the projects in the hydropower sector on time and said that the work to be done by the GoN for the construction of the Upper Trishuli Project would be taken forward.

She stressed the need to deepen mutual trust between the two countries by completing projects with South Korean investment, cooperation and partnership in a timely manner.
