Party’s decision to expel four Karnali PA members endorsed

Kathmandu: An interim order issued by the Supreme Court against the decision of the CPN-UML to expel four of its members in the Karnali provincial assembly has been dissolved. The four PA members had been expelled by the party for crossing the floor against the whip issued by the party.

The interim order issued earlier by the single bench of Prakash Singh Raut was scrapped by a joint bench of Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana and justice Prakash Dhungana today. CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli had filed a petition at the apex court, along with a vacate application calling for an annulment of the interim order.

Oli had argued that the 10th national general convention organizing committee was constituted as per the decision of the central committee of the party, and hence the organizing committee was the official executive committee to take action against the PA members, disobeying the whip of the party.
