Hearing of former Maoist leader postponed

Kathmandu: Today’s hearing in the writ petition filed by former Maoist Center leaders seeking to retain their parliamentary seats has been postponed.

The hearing of the case, scheduled in a single bench of Supreme Court Judge Ananda Mohan Bhattarai, has been adjourned on behalf of the legal practitioners of the writ petition.

The Maoist Center had sacked their leaders Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, Lekhraj Bhatt, Gauri Shankar Chaudhary and Prabhu Shah for joining the CPN-UML.

Challenging the action, they had filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court on Wednesday demanding to retain their parliamentary seat as they are still with the Maoist centre.
