Melamchi flood survivors meet PM Deuba

July 27, Kathmandu: Flood survivors from Melamchi of Sindhupalchowk district called on Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, on Monday seeking the role of government in the prevention and management of possible disaster in the future.

They demanded the government immediately construct an embankment to the river so as to stop potential incidences of river-based disasters.

A delegation of the survivors led by Sagar Kumar Shrestha reached the Prime Minister’s official residence, Baluwatar to apprise the Prime Minister of their problems.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Deuba said he was updated about the damages caused by the Melamchi flood.

Prime Minister Deuba said the Government was highly serious to address their problems.
