People below poverty line will be provided electricity at subsidised rate

July 27, Kathmandu: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Pampha Bhusal has said special policies would be brought to provide electricity to the people below the poverty line at a subsidised rate.

During a press conference organized at the Energy Ministry on Monday, Minister Bhusal said the Ministry would provide electricity to the general public at a lower rate by forwarding programs to increase electricity production.

“If we produce more electricity and if we control the leakage, we can make the electricity transmission and distribution more efficient. This will, in turn, help us lower the tariff of electricity,” Minister Bhusal said.
