Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolis gets new building

The construction of a new building for the Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolis has been complete.

The six-storey building was constructed at a cost of Rs 81.3 million and it has 71 rooms for official uses. Mayor Lal Kishore Shah and deputy mayor Reeta Jha inaugurated the office building. The parts of the building have been named after major historic personalities of ancient Mithila (the then Videha Kingdom).

The major block of the building has been named the ‘Janak Block’ while the ground floor has been called ‘Shatananda Sadan’ (Guru/teacher of King Janak). Similarly, the name of the first floor is ‘Janaki Sadan’, and the second floor is named the ‘Salahesh Sadan’ while the third floor has been named the ‘ Bidushi Gargi Sadan’.

The fourth floor is called the ‘Bidushi Maitreyi Sadan’, the fifth floor is named the ‘Yagyawalkya Sadan’ and the sixth floor has been named the ‘Astabakra’. On the occasion, mayor Shah said the Sub-metropolis had headed towards transformation and it was gradually achieving success in infrastructure construction and the protection of its culture and civilisation.
