Pandemic affects health programmes in Baglung
The health programmes launched by the district health office here have been affected amid COVID-19 infection.
The office has posted 67.5 percent progress on health programmes during the pandemic. The programmes as trainings, assemblies and programmes relating to health were banned over the spread of coronavirus, said the office chief Suraj Gurau. “Necessary works have been done.
However, some health programmes have been affected. All health workers could not get health trainings due to the infection. Only few of them got trainings virtually. There is a need to provide health trainings to health workers. Health programmes relating to vaccination, nutrition and diseases like elephantiasis and tuberculosis have been affected,” he said.
Health trainings on contact tracing, immunization, distribution of medicines have been affected due to the COVID-19 pandemic, said resource person Dev Prakash Ghimire.
