Vero Cell vaccination campaign postponed in Kathmandu

June 17, Kathmandu: The Government of Nepal (GoN) has postponed the Vero Cell vaccination drive in Kathmandu for the time being owing to the shortage of the vaccine against COVID-19.

The latest round of vaccination drive for the Vero Cell vaccine had kicked off on July 13. According to Chief Public Health Administrator at the Health Office, Kathmandu, Badri Bahadur Khadka, the vaccination drive in Kathmandu was postponed due to shortage.

The vaccine was administered from 44 vaccine centres in the Kathmandu district. Vero Cell was given to people of 55 years to above age. The Chinese government had donated 800 thousand doses of Vero Cell to Nepal.
