Public transportation fare increased

Kathmandu: The public transportation fare has been increased today. The Department of Transport Management increased the inter-province public transportation fare by 28 percent.
The fare has been increased for public transportation involving two or more than two provinces, DoTM spokesperson Dr. Loknath Bhusal said. The fare for public passenger service has been increased by 28 percent, while the increment is 20 percent in the Tarai and 26 percent for goods carrier vehicles in the hills.
The fare adjustment was made after a gap of six years, and also considering the rise in fuel price, cost of drivers and helpers, and maintenance cost of vehicles, Bhusal said.
