PM Oli announces 50 thousand Rupees relief to each flood and landslides hit families

July 11, Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has announced 50,000 Rupees assistance per household for floods and landslides survivors from Melamchi and Helambu areas of Sindhupalchowk.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had an onsite inspection of Helambu Rural Municipality and Melamchi Municipality on Saturday and handed over the relief fund and materials.
PM Oli also pledged to provide five hundred thousand to each of the flood-hit families for reconstructions.
PM Oli also handed over a cheque of 25 million rupees to Helambu Rural Municipality, a 20 million rupees cheque to Panchpokhari Thangpal Rural Municipality and a cheque of 16.5 million rupees to Melamchi Municipality for addressing the needs of the people in the flood-hit areas. PM Oli also discussed the matters of reconstruction and rehabilitation with the local representatives and listened to the grievances of the locals.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority provided 18.3 million Rupees in total for 366 households that suffered worst during the recent flood and landslides.
Similarly, the Melamchi Drinking Water Project distributed gabion wires to the affected local levels.
Salt Trading Corporation also provided 1,500 bundles of corrugated zinc sheets.
During the program, it was announced that Construction Entrepreneurs’ Promotion Fund would provide 600 thousand Rupees to Helambu Rural Municipality and 400 thousand Rupees to Melamchi Municipality.
PM Oli, Minister for Physical Infrastructures and Transport, Basant Kumar Nembang, former minister Sher Bahadur Tamang and secretaries of related ministries and people’s representatives had inspected the flood-hit areas on Saturday.
