Budget for ‘healthy mother, healthy child’ programme

The Babai rural municipality in Dang has introduced a special programme for lactating women and their newborns.

Deputy Mayor, Sabitri Biswakarma said, under the theme ‘healthy mother, healthy child’, the municipality aims to protect the life of the new mothers and their babies.

The programme also includes incentives for institutional delivery, especially in government health facilities. An allowance of Rs. 2,000 is provided to encourage pregnant women to opt for institutional delivery of their child.
