Rain-induced disasters claim 51 lives

July 9, Kathmandu: The rain-induced disasters including flood, landslide, and inundation have people killed 51 people in different parts of the country.

Five people died in Sindhupalchowk, four in Doti, three each in Rolpa, Tanahu, Dang, Palpa, Darchula and Gorkha, two each in Chitwan, Pyuthan, Dhading, Myagdi and Rautahat, and one each in Lalitpur, Makwanpur, Sarlahi, Khotang, Saptari, Kavre, Sindhuli, Jumla, Arghakhanchi, Kaski, Kalikot, Panchthar, Bajhang and Bajura.

Seven people were killed in the last 24 hours alone. As per the updates shared by Police Headquarters, three people died in Darchula, two in Palpa and one each in Tanahu and Dang.

Similarly, 29 people have gone missing. As many as 1,268 persons were rescued.
