34 people die in monsoon-caused disasters since June 13

July 3, Kathmandu: At least 34 people have died in the floods and landslides that have occurred since the 13th of June.

The Ministry of Home Affairs also confirmed that in the recent rain-induced disasters 40 people went missing and more than 40 people were injured.

The meteorologists have said that the rainfall will continue for the coming few days.

They have warned that the water level in almost all major river networks in the country would increase heightening the risks of flooding and inundation.

The meteorologists and the authorities have urged all to remain alert towards possible damages.

Nepal Police spokesperson Basanta Bahadur Kunwar said over 1,200 people had been rescued from different parts of the country.

He added rescue and relief works were underway.

Four thousand nine hundred and fifty-five people got displaced and Many roads have been blocked due to flooding.

Three hundred ninety-seven houses have been swept away by floods and landslides and 491 houses, 84 animal sheds, 38 bridges, three school buildings and 10 government buildings have been damaged.
