Preparedness is the key: DPM Paudel

July 2, Kathmandu: Deputy PM and Home Minister Bishnu Pd Paudel has directed all state agencies to expedite the disaster risk reduction preparedness.

Addressing a disaster management related meeting at the Home Ministry on Thursday, DPM Paudel directed all concerned agencies to keep rescue, relief and rehabilitation at the topmost priority.

He asked the official to pay special attention to the risk caused by the monsoonal downpour and prepare a plan to address the immediate needs and also draft a long term vision to address the problem.

Pledging enough resources for the relief and rescue operations, he asked the officials to be focused on how to minimize the risk and loss from different natural disasters.

DPM Paudel also urged the officials to ensure that no one would be missed from the necessary relief and no one would get the relief repeatedly.
