China celebrates 100th anniversary of founding of Communist Party of China

Beijing(China),July 1,(Xinhua): Chinese President Xi Jinping has said, China has always worked to safeguard world peace, contribute to global development , and preserve international order.

The Chinese President said this at a speech marking the 100th anniversary of the founding of the ruling Communist Party.

A flag-raising ceremony was held during a grand gathering celebrating the Communist Party of China (CPC) centenary at Tian’anmen Square in Beijing, capital of China.

The Chinese President has also said Chinese people will never allow any foreign force to bully, oppress, or subjugate China adding that China does not oppress anyone.

The Chinese President also called for continuous efforts to promote the building of a human community with a shared future.

Thousands of people have gathered in Beijing’s Tian’anmen square to mark the day.

The ceremonies held Thursday morning also saw military jet fly-pasts, cannon salutes and patriotic songs played.
