Food Crisis hits Nachai of Manang District

June 23, Kathmandu: Food crisis has gripped Naso rural municipality-2, Nachai of Manang district.

Local officials of the rural municipality said Nachai had been grappling with food crisis after it lost connectivity with other geographical areas following incessant rainfall on June 18.

As many as 182 people of Nachai are facing trouble in their daily livelihood due to food crisis.

The floods and landslides that occurred along with the torrential rain last Tuesday had caused big damages to all eight wards except ward no. 2 of the rural municipality.

Arrangement of food is being made for the floods and landslides survivors from different agencies.

Ward-2 of the rural municipality Bhim Bahadur Gurung said neighbouring wards had also been adversely affected by floods and landslides.
