Avoid any further damage: PM Oli

June17, Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has urged all concerned authorities to work in a coordinated manner to avoid any further damage from floods and landslides in the country.

Speaking at the meeting with the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council at the Prime Minister Official residence on Wednesday Prime Minister Oli directed the concerned agencies to immediately manage food, clothing, medicines, water and other essentials in the monsoon-induced disaster affected areas.

He said the government had prepared by estimating the possible risk and was working as per the plans.

Prime Minister Oli directed to give special attention to people with disabilities, senior citizens, children and women in the rescue and relief efforts.

He added attention needs to be paid to the risk of COVID-19 infection while shifting the affected population to safer locations.

The Prime Minister also stressed on effective monitoring to prevent irregularities in the relief distribution.
