Health Ministry urges all not to get out of home except for highly essential works
April 21, Kathmandu: The Ministry of Health and Population has urged people not to get out of home except for highly essential works due to increasing risk of Covid-19 infection.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Health Ministry’s Spokesperson Prof. Dr. Jageswor Gautam asked people not to organize or involve any crowd gathering activities.
He also said the country’s health facilities could collapse if the current infection rate continued.
Spokesperson Gautam also urged people to strictly adopt the health protocols saying the infection rate had been doubling in every 4 days.
Meantime, The Health Ministry has reported 2 thousand 3 hundred and 51 new corona virus infection cases in the last 24 hours.
Among them, 7 hundred and 86 cases were reported from Kathmandu district alone. Nepal’s active corona cases have now neared 10 thousand and 6 hundred.
Similarly, 2 hundred and 87 people have recovered from the infection in the same last 24 hours.
The ministry has also reported 10 corona related deaths on Wedneday. This has pushed Nepal’s corona related death toll to 3 thousand 1 hundred and 12.
