President Bhandari embarking on two-day state visit to Bangladesh on Monday

March 21, Kathmandu: President Bidhya Devi Bhandari is embarking on a two-day state visit to Bangladesh on Monday.

While unveiling the cabinet decision amidst a press briefing at Singh Durbar on Sunday, Communication and Information Technology Minister Parbat Gurung said three different agreements would be signed during the President’s Bangladesh visit.

He further said during the visit, agenda of promoting tourism, managing different pesticides and chemicals used in agriculture and livestock development would surface.

He also added that the agenda of train, transport and port facilities along with Bangladesh’s effort on procuring electricity from Nepal would also be discussed in the meeting.

The President will return home on March 23 wrapping up her visit.

Meanwhile, on the eve of the president’s Bangladesh visit, a book entitled Nepal – Bangladesh Relations penned by foreign affairs expert Hiranya Lala Shrestha has been unveiled.

The book highlights various aspects of Nepal Bangladesh Relations since the birth of Bangladesh in 1971.
