UML leader discussion

March 15, Kathmandu: CPN-UML Chairperson and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli have held discussions with leaders of the party’s dissident faction Madhav Kumar Nepal at the party’s central office in Dhumbarahi, Kathmandu today.

Top leaders of the CPN-UML have not been able to hold discussions since the dissolution of the House of Representatives on December 19. Further controversy erupted in the CPN-UML after the Supreme Court reconstituted the House of Representatives and the then CPN-UML and the CPN-Maoist were formally separated from the NCP due to the Supreme Court’s decision on March 8.

After CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli held a special meeting of the party’s central committee on March 11 and changed the responsibilities of the party leaders and nominated 23 people including CPN-(Maoist Centre) central leader Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’ to the central committee.

During today’s discussion, Chairman Oli and Leader Nepal took their stand and it was decided to seek consensus between the two sides through informal and formal discussions between the leaders at various levels, said CPN-UML Spokesperson and Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradip Gyawali.

Chairman Oli, Senior Leader Nepal, General Secretary Ishwar Pokharel, Leaders Bishnu Poudel, Subhash Nembang, Pradip Gyawali, Bhim Rawal Ghanshyam Bhushal, Raghuji Pant and Gokarna Bista were present in today’s discussion.
