Government receives first lot of vaccine against Covid-19 under COVAX Facility

March 8, Kathmandu: The government of Nepal has received the first lot of vaccines against Covid-19 available under the COVAX Facility.
Among the 1.92 million doses of vaccines pledged to Nepal, under the program, 348 thousand doses of the vaccines had arrived in Nepal on Sunday.
The vaccines, given to Nepal under the ‘COVAX facility, were also produced by the Serum Institute of India.
The vaccines were brought to Nepal in coordination with the UNICEF and the WHO and in assistance from various international governments, international organizations, and private sectors.
Minister for Health and Population Hridayesh Tripathi received the vaccines along with 350 thousand sets of syringes.
The Ministry has said Nepal will receive vaccines enough for 20% population of the country under the Covax facility free of cost.
