Second phase of Covid-19 vaccination starting from Sunday

March 3, Kathmandu: The Government of Nepal (GoN) on Sunday is launching the second phase of the anti-Covid-19 vaccination campaign targeting people above 55 years and above.

Speaking at the interaction programme on ‘Covid-19 Vaccination Campaign’ at the Ministry on Saturday, Health and Population Minster Hridayesh Tripathi said PM KP Sharma Oli would commence the second phase of vaccination at 10 am on Sunday by receiving the vaccine.

Minister Tripathi said during the first ten days of the campaign people above 65 years would receive the vaccine while during the next 10 days of the campaign would target 55 years and above.

Announcing the completion of all preparations for the second phase of anti-covid vaccination, Minster Tripathi said the government target to vaccinate 3.7 million people during this phase from six thousand vaccination centres across the country.

Minister Tripathi further confirmed the arrival of 348 thousand doses of COVAX.

Saying the process of receiving Covax enough to vaccinate 20% population had begun; the Ministry confirmed that the process of purchasing 5 million doses of vaccine has also been initiated.
