Nepal Government and Biplav-led Nepal Communist Party sign three-point agreement
March 5, Kathmandu: The government of Nepal and the Netra Bikram Chand, the Biplav-led group have signed a 3-point agreement today.
Coordinator of government talk team and Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa and coordinator of Biplav-led group Khadga Bahadur Biswakarma signed the agreement amidst a ceremony at the City Hall on Friday on the witnesses of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and the group’s general secretary Neta Bikram Chand.
Member of the government talk team and Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Advisor Dr. Rajan Bhattarai informed that with the agreement both sides had agreed to resolve the country’s political issues through dialogues. He added the Biplav-led group would carry out peaceful activities and the government lifted the ban imposed on the group.
Dr. Bhattarai further informed that the government would release the groups’ cadres and revoke all the cases filed against them.
Addressing the agreement-signing ceremony, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli said, with the consensus, Nepal had moved in the path of prosperity with full peace and stability ending all kinds of violence in the county.
Prime Minister Oli also said the international community had highly assessed the achievement Nepal obtained in peacebuilding. On a different note, the Prime Minister stated that the Prachanda-Nepal group of the Nepal Communist Party were attempting to topple the majority government and pushing the county into instability. PM Oli added that he would not let the group succeed in their ill intension. The Prime Minister also clarified that he had not proposed anyone for the premiership.
On the occasion, General Secretary of the Biplav-led Group Netra Bikram Chanda said the 3-point agreement was reached envisioning prosperous Nepal with sustainable peace and stability.
Leader Chanda vowed to follow the agreement urging all not to have any doubt on his party’s effort.
Earlier, leader Chanda met Prime Minister Oli at the Official Residence of the Prime Minister at Baluwatar.
