President Bhandari urges all to be dedicated to building socialism oriented economy

February 26, Kathmandu: President Bidhya Devi Bhandari has urged all to be dedicated to building socialism-oriented economy in the country as envisioned by the constitution.

Addressing a programme organized by Nidhi Foundation at Shital Niews on Friday, President Bhandari lauded late Mahendra Naryan Nidhi as a model of down to earth life style. She also said late Nidhi’s politics of integrity was commendable and everyone should adopt it.

Honorary Chair of the Foundation and Nepali Congress Vice President Bimalendra Nidhi said unless people could own the change, it would not be sustainable. He also stressed on having way out of the political deadlock from the parliament itself.

On the occasion, Mahendra Narayan Nidhi National Awards for 2076 BS and 2077 BS were conferred on Senior Journalist Homnath Dahal and Litterateur Dr Ram Dayal Rakesh. Likewise, Premsagari Devi Nidhi Awards were conferred on Social Activist Kashi Devi Jha and Giri Rajkumari Prasai. The awards carry a purse of one hundred thousand rupees and a letter of appreciation.
