NCP Standing Committee to uphold Supreme Court’s verdict

February 25, Kathmandu: The Standing Committee of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) on Wednesday decided to implement the Supreme Court’s decision to reinstate the House of Representatives.

Party Spokesperson and Foreign Affairs Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali said the Standing Committee meeting held at Baluwatar decided to move ahead as per the Supreme Court’s verdict.

He further said although there were some doubts regarding the court’s decision, the party respected the ultimate right of the judiciary in interpreting the constitution.

Minister Gyawali further said the party also decided to take the necessary steps to check political instability in the country.

The party’s next standing committee meeting has been set for Thursday.
