Gov to purchase 2 million doses of Covishield from Serum Institute of India

February 18, Kathmandu: The government has decided to purchase 2 million doses of Covishield vaccine from Indian pharmaceutical giant Serum Institute.

Making the latest cabinet decisions public on Thursday, Government Spokesperson and Communication and Information Technology Minister Parbat Gurung informed that the government would purchase the vaccines as per the purchasing terms the vaccine manufacturing company.

The Covishield is the same vaccine that was provided by the Indian government to the government of Nepal in aid.

The cabinet meeting also decided to provide 50 percent of wages of the months of Baishak and Jestha this year to the employees of shut industries during lockdown period and to provide cent percent wages to the employees present in the industries during the lockdown period.
