I have always respected independence of judiciary: PM Oli
February 18, Kathmandu: PM KP Sharma Oli has said he and his government has deep respect and reverence for judiciary.
Furnishing his in person written reply to the contempt of court case on Thursday, PM claimed that he had done nothing that could diminish the respect for the independent judiciary.
In his written reply to the court, PM Oli said independence of judiciary and rule of law were the founding pillars of democracy and the government led by him had respected the court’s directives and readily implemented them.
He dismissed the case filed against him saying the case was registered against him with ill intentions misinterpreting his words de-contextualizing them.
On the 28th of January, the Supreme Court had ordered Prime Minister Oli to be physically present in the court and submit a written reply to the case.
