Development of energy sector essential for country’s prosperity: PM Oli

February 1, Dhanusa: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has inaugurated the country’s largest and most advanced power sub-station on Monday constructed at Dhalkebar of Dhanusa.

The power substation was constructed at the joint investment of the government of Nepal and Nepal Electricity Authority and concessional loan of the World Bank. It is of 400, 220 and 132 KV capacity.

Inaugurating the sub-station, Prime Minister Oli said the government made Nepal a lead-shading free country keeping the development of hydropower sector in high priority. PM Oli added that development of energy sector was significant for the forwarding the country in the path of prosperity.

Stating that that the accomplishment of Dhalkebar-Mujaffapur sub-station was a great achievement in the energy sector, the PM said Nepal would be able to import or export the electricity easily via the transmission line.

PM Oli also said the construction works of large hydropower projects had been expedited so as to make Nepal self-reliant in electricity in all the seasons by 2023.

The PM also expressed his belief that Nepal would achieve economic prosperity exporting electricity to India and Bangaladeh within a few years.

He further stated that Tarai would be made a prosperous region by constructing the Sunkoshi Marin Diversion for the development of agricultural sector.

On a different note, Prime Minister assured that the election would be held on the 30th of April in province 2 in the first phase. He urged all to take part in the election and vote for the patriotic force.

The PM claimed that the Nepal Communist Party would see no differences though some leaders who created hurdle in the business of the government left the party.

Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Top Bahadur Rayamajhi among other put their views on the occasion.
