PM Oli to inaugurate Covid-19 vaccination campaign today

January 27, Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is going to virtually inaugurate the Covid-19 vaccination program at 62 hospitals and more than 120 vaccination centres in all the seven provinces on Wednesday.

The frontline workers in the fight against Covid-19 would be the first batch of people to receive the jab.

The integrated vaccination centre under the Health Ministry is preparing for administering vaccines through various 300 vaccination centres in the 77 districts by January 31.

Meanwhile, Joint Spokesperson of the Health Ministry Sameer Kumar Adhikari confirmed that the preparation for the vaccination drive had been completed.

Likewise, Director of the Child Health and Vaccination Section at the Department of Health Services Dr Jhalak Sharma Gautam informed that the vaccines had reached all the seven provinces.

Dr Gautam said the Ministry of Health would conclude the vaccination campaign within 10 days of launching the first phase of inoculation.

Four hundred thirty thousand persons are expected to receive the jab in the first phase.

The government sources said they were preparing to manage additional doses of vaccines for the second phase of inoculation.
