Health Ministry confirms new variant of Covid 19 in Nepal

January 18, Kathmandu: The Ministry of Health and Population has confirmed the new variant of the coronavirus infection in three persons.

Issuing a press release today, the ministry confirmed the new variant of the coronavirus infection in 68 and 32-year-old males and a 28-year-old woman.

”The PCR report of a 28-year-old woman and 32-year-old male has already been confirmed negative and another person has not shown any symptoms despite corona positive result”, states the Press release.

The sample test of 3 out of six people, who had returned to Nepal from the UK in mid-December, had been sent to Hongkong laboratory for gene sequencing after they tested corona negative.
