Collaboration pivotal in minimizing the impact of natural disasters: PM Oli

January 15, Kathmandu: The 23rd National Earthquake Safety Day is being marked across the country with the slogan, “Earthquake safety, protection of lives of people in public cooperation’”.
Nepal started to observe the day since 1934 January 15, after it was hit by 8.3 Richter’s scale earthquake.
Giving a message on the occasion of Earthquake Safety Day on Friday, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli said the government was committed in forging sustainable disaster reduction policies, making them result-oriented.

Prime Minister Oli also stressed on the need for collaboration among concerned stakeholders and the general public to minimize the effects of the natural disasters.
PM Oli also said the April 25th 2015 had taught an important lesson to all Nepalis regarding the need for minimizing the adverse impacts caused by a natural disaster.
Meanwhile, a special program is going to be held at the premises of historical and religious Kumari temple at Bode of Madhyapurthimi municipality in Bhaktapur district on Friday.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to inaugurate the program.
