Ex-goalkeeper of national football team, Shahi, passes away

January 11, Kathmandu: Former goalkeeper of Nepali National Football Team and former general-secretary of All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), Lok Bahadur Shahi passed away at the age of 65.
Suffering from different diseases for a long, Shahi died at his house in Dailekh on Sunday night, said ANFA President Karma Tshering Sherpa. Final rites of Shahi would be performed today, according to a family source.
He was the goalkeeper of the Nepali National Football Team from 1979 to 1989. Shahi took retirement from the national team in 1989. He was elected as general-secretary of ANFA in 2052 BS as well as elected as the founding chairperson of the Nepal Ice Hockey Association established in 2070 BS.
