National Assembly lawmakers raise issues of consequences after House dissolution
January 7, Kathmandu: The lawmakers in the meeting of the National assembly on Thursday have raised the issues of consequences after the dissolution of the House of Representatives.
Lawmaker Bamdev Gautam Opined that the nation was in a critical state after the dissolution of the House arguing that disputes and logical opinions were common in the party. He also said that it was not an appropriate time to comment on the house dissolution as it was under sub- judice, in the Supreme Court.
Nepal Communist Party (NCP) whip Khimlal Bhattarai clarified that the discussion about the house dissolution and the election was natural in the current political situation. He said people should not be made confused by misinterpreting the prime minister’s move as autocratic and anarchic.
Likewise, other NCP lawmakers said people’s view towards NCP was changing after the house dissolution arguing that the party was on the verge of a split due to the recent political development.
On the other hand, the lawmakers of the opposition party protested the prime minister’s move saying the nation was moving to a state of crisis after the dissolution of the House.
Minister for law, justice, and parliamentary affairs, Lilanath Shrestha, on behalf of prime minister KP Sharma Oli presented a report of the Madhesi Commission 2076/77 BS to the meeting.
Likewise, the meeting also endorsed the nomination of Bamdev Gautam to the Sustainable Development and Good Governance Committee of the national assembly proposed by National Assembly Chairman Ganesh Prasad Timilsina.
The next meeting of the upper house has been called for tomorrow at 1 p.m.
