Health Ministry urges all to adopt emergency precaution to stay safe from adverse effects of air pollution

Kathmandu, January 6: The Ministry of Health and Population has urged all to adopt emergency precaution to stay safe from the adverse effects of air pollution on health.

At a press meet, Ministry’s Spokesperson Prof. Dr. Jageshwor Gautam asked people not to go for morning walk, burn things and conduct activities that blow dusts. He urged people to use vehicles only if it is very essential.

Dr Gautam also said the ministry had decided to regularize all the services delivered by Covid and non-Covid hospitals across the country.

He added that the ministry has formed a monitoring committee for vaccine management and expansion of the vaccine storage capacity in all provinces.

Meantime, with improvement in weather, the level of air pollution in Nepal has come down. Senior Meteorologist Shanti Kandel said as the low-pressure belt created by the westerly wind has weakened, the pollution level has come down.
