National Assembly’s winter session commences
January 1, Kathmandu: The winter session of the National Assembly has commenced from today.
In the meeting of the National Assembly, parliamentarians drew the government’s attention towards the problems of farmers. They also urged the government to bring a long term solution to address the farmers’ problems.
Speaking at the meeting, Parliamentarian Dinanath Sharma said political parties should be strong to make the democracy powerful and institutionalized.
He stressed on the need for continuous support, monitoring and questioning the government in a decent and civilized manner to maintain the pride and glory of the National Assembly.
Parliamentarian Sharma further said the National Assembly should raise the concerns of the people in the absence of the House of Representative.
Similarly, Parliamentarian Jitendranarayan Dev viewed that risk has arisen at the present situation in the county, posing threat to the federal republic and its achievements gained through peoples struggle and sacrifice.
Parliamentarian Dev said the Nepali Congress would accept the verdict of the Supreme Court as the matter about the dissolution of the House of the representative in reached in the court.
Meantime, Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa presented Acid and other Hazardous Chemical Monitoring Ordinance 2077 BS., Nepal Police and Province Police Work Operation, Monitoring and Coordination (First Amendment) Ordinance 2077 BS and Social Security (First Amendment) Ordinance 2077 BS in the meeting.
Likewise, Minister for Health and Population Hridesh Tripathi presented Medicine (Third Amendment) Ordinance 2077 BS in the meeting.
The next meeting of the National Assembly has been scheduled at 1 pm on January 5.
