HIV infected on the rise in Kanchanpur district

The number of people infected with HIV/AIDS has been found to be increasing in Kanchanpur.

People returning from various parts of India after work are reportedly coming back with the virus.  According to the Health Office, So far, 549 people have been found infected with HIV/AIDS in the district.

In the fiscal year 2073/74, 21 people were found infected while it increased to 28 in 2074/75 and then to 45 in the fiscal year 2075/76

In the fiscal year,2076/77 new cases of HIV/AIDS were reported. Likewise, in four months of the current fiscal year, 13 new cases of HIV/AIDS have been found. Presently, 283 people are taking the -retroviral drug in the district. –
