P.M. to donate his full salary to the COVID-19 treatment fund

Kathmandu- The Government of Nepal (GoN) has constituted a committee for a feasibility study for setting up a chemical fertilizer industry in the country.

The GoN has also forwarded the process of chemical fertilizer procurement.

Unveiling the cabinet decisions of the 5th and 9th of November at the ministry on Thursday, Communications and Information Technology Minister Parbat Gurung said the government would forward the work of setting up the fertilizer industry based on the report furnished by the committee.

The study committee led by Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel includes Agriculture Minister and Industry Minister as its members.

Minister Gurung also said the cabinet has decided to provide free treatment to coronavirus patients.

Reiterating the government’s commitment to curbing corona pandemic, Minister Gurung further said the government had decided to shut all cross border transit except the 13 transits until the mid-December.

Minister Gurung also announced the cabinet decision to reduce taxes on various goods and removing taxes on imported books.

Responding to the journalists, Minister Gurung said that the total salary of P.M. K.P. Sharma Oli and the 50 percent salary of the Deputy PM and Ministers and Sate Ministers from November 2020 to May 2021 would be deposited to the Covid-19 test and treatment fund.
