Nepal’s economic growth for 2021 to be 0.6% : World Bank   

Kathmandu- A World Bank report on Thursday projected Nepal’s economic growth for 2021 to be at 0.6%.

The World Bank’s latest South Asia Economic Update forecast the worst-ever recession in the South-Asian region, stating that the pandemic had devastated the region’s economy.

The report has forecast a sharper than expected economic slump across the region.

The forecast predicts that the regional economy will shrink by 7.7 per cent in 2020, having witnessed six per cent annual growth in the past five years.

The World Bank has warned about the financial impact on informal workers, adding that millions of South Asians would be pushed to extreme poverty.
