At least two airbases housing US troops in Iraq have been hit by more than a dozen ballistic missiles, according to the US Department of Defence

Iran said the attack was retaliation after the country’s top commander Qasem Soleimani was killed in a drone strike in Baghdad, on the orders of US President Donald Trump.
The Pentagon says at least two sites were attacked, in Irbil and Al-Asad.
It is unclear if there have been any casualties.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guard said the attack was in retaliation for the death of Soleimani on Friday.
Similarly, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard warned US regional allies, including Israel, that they will be attacked if their countries are used for attacks against Tehran, Iranian state media said.
Meanwhile, at least 56 people have been killed in a stampede in the Iranian city of Kerman at the funeral procession for a top commander killed in an air strike by the United States.
Iranian state TV said at least 56 people had been killed and more than 200 injured in the stampede.
