Gulmi Jeep Accident kills at least 14 people injuring three, One remains missing
December 3: At least 14 people were killed when a jeep met with an accident at Kopche of Badigadh rural municipality in Gulmi district today.
Nawaraj Bhatta, chief of the district police office said all people nine women, four men and a child died on the spot. 10 of the deceased have been identified so far. They are 26 year old jeep driver Resham Thapa of Ishma 5 in Gulmi, 40 year old Basundhara Karki of A A Dobata, Maya Thapa of Ishma 5 Khadhunga, 60 years old Bhuma Karki of Nawalparasi Bardaghat 2, 55 year old Nara Maya Khatri of Badigad 7 of Baglung, 40 year old Sita Karki of Ishma 4 of Gulmi, 65 year old Jhabi Karki of Ishma 4, 45 year old Bhumi Karki, 25 year old Mina Basnet of AA and 65 year old Dhan Bahdur Karki from AA.
According to police the injured are 18 year old Jeevan Karki from Bardaghat 2 in Nawalparasi, 8 year old Himal Karki and Nima KC of Ishma 4 Gulmi.
Similarly, 65 year old Dhan Bahadur Karki of Ishma 4 has been missing in the accident.
The victims were traveling on the ill-fated jeep to Nisikhola of Baglung from Isma of Gulmi to worship their clan deities.
