Ukraine cedes some territory after being unable to withstand Russian offensive

August 5, Kathmandu. Ukraine has said that it had to leave some territory in the east after the Russian offensive.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the Russian army could not withstand the attack in the eastern Donbas region and had to cede some areas.
Russia has occupied the territories that Ukraine left.
The head of the military alliance of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has said that under no circumstances should Russia be allowed to win the war.
Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan are meeting in the Russian city of Sochi on Friday to discuss issues such as the Russia-Ukraine war and Turkey’s possible military intervention in Syria, according to the BBC.
