Landslide kills five people in Magdi

Myagdi: Five people died in a landslide at Malika Rural Municipality of Myagdi district today. 

A landslide that hit two houses at Tameng village swept the family members of Gham Bahadur BK.

Ward Chair of Malika-2 Bhakta Bahadur Pun confirmed the death of the family.

The police that led the rescue team have recovered the bodies of Nabin BK, Raju BK, Roji BK, Rujan BK and Gham Bahadur BK.

The police said injured Gothe BK and Gori BK are taken to Darbang for further treatment after providing primary treatment at the village health post. 

Malika Rural Municipality Chairman Beg Prasad Garbuja vowed to provide relief to the family and treatment of the injured. 

Likewise, the swollen Koili River in Banganga municipality in Kapilvastu swept away a couple.

The police said the body of the wife who was swept by the river was recovered while the search for the husband was underway.

The police said 36 years old Dil Kumar Sunar and his wife 31 years old Ram Maya Sunar were swept by the Koili River this morning. Meanwhile, the locals had rescued 13-year-old Niraj Sunar, the son of Dil Kumar.
