Parliamentary committee directs government again to send letter to US about Nepal’s non-participation in SPP

Kathmandu: The International Relations Committee of the House of Representatives has directed the government again to send a letter annulling the possibility of Nepal’s participation in the US State Partnership Programme.

In the meeting of the committee held at Singh Durbar today, most of the lawmakers voiced their concerns regarding the delay in sending a letter to the USA regarding Nepal’s non-participation in the SPP.

Responding to the voice of the lawmakers, Committee Chair Pabitra Niraula Kharel directed the Defense Ministry to send a letter to the US regarding SPP and provide a copy of the letter to the committee.

The committee has also asked the Defense Ministry to provide a copy of all the documents connected to the SPP to the committee. 

Committee Chair Kharel further said the committee had called the PM twice before but he was not available now the committee decided to call him again to clarify matters regarding the SPP.
