Former Japanese PM Abe in critical condition after being shot

July 8, Kathmandu: Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has shot during a program on Friday.
Former Prime Minister Abe’s condition is said to be in critical condition, according to the Japanese media organization NHK.
Abe was shot in the back during a speech in the Japanese city of Nara, according to media reports.
An NHK correspondent reported that shots were heard twice halfway during Abe’s speech.
Abe has been taken to hospital, while a suspect in the shooting has been arrested.
Abe resigned as the Prime Minister of Japan in 2020. However, he is still an influential leader in the ruling Liberal Democratic Party.
