Switzerland provides 6.8 million Swiss francs to Nepal for ReMi project

June 8, Kathmandu: Switzerland has agreed to provide an assistance of 6.8 million Swiss Franc (equivalent to NRs. 864,302,627) to Nepal for the “Reintegration of Returnee Migrant Workers (ReMi)”.
An agreement to provide the aid was signed by the Joint Secretary at the Finance Ministry, Ishwori Prasad Aryal, and the Chargée d’affaires at the Embassy of Switzerland, Silvana Hogg, at the Finance Ministry on Wednesday on behalf of their respective governments.
The Ministry of Finance has said that the project aims at strengthening the capacity of foreign returnee workers for reintegration into society and utilization of their knowledge, skills, capital, and experiences gained during foreign employment.
The project will be implemented at twenty local levels in Province 1 and Madhesh Province for four years, starting from July of 2022.
The government has expressed its sincere appreciation to the Government of Switzerland for its invariable support in socio-economic development and advancement of human resources in Nepal, the Ministry said in a press note.
