Biscuit factory fire under control

Kathmandu: A fire that broke out at the Nebico Biscuit Factory inside the Balaju Industrial Zone of Kathmandu has been brought under control.

A total of 128 firefighters and two fire brigades were deployed under the command of the Assistant Chief of Staff of the Nepal Army’s Shree No. 1 Bahini Base in Balaju to control the fire that was started at 3 pm last night.

A truss house was demolished by the Nepal Army rescue team to prevent the fire from spreading, while eight fire engines and a Simrik Air helicopter were also used.

The fire has been brought under control with the joint efforts of the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and locals.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
